Although rice is the staple diet of the valley.The cuisine of Kashmir includes tasty foods in which wazwaan is of prominent importance.The Kashmiris are famous for their delectable vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes.The style of cooking is different for Hindus and Muslims although with a lot of similarities.Traditional Kashmiri food includes Dum Aloo( boiled potatoes with heavy spices), Tzaman(a solid cottage cheese), Rogan josh(Lamb cooked in heavy spices), Haakh(lettuce of Kashmir region), Rista-Gushtava(minced meat balls in tomato and curd curry)
