What Should We Carry During Kashmir in Winter ?

  Clothing: If you are planning to visit Kashmir in winter you should carry certain essentials to ensure comfort during your trip. Travelling by road:

There are also private buses that operate from Jammu, the distance early used to be 300kms but after the recent realignment of the national highway the distance is further reduced to 260 Kms only. The cabs are very economical if you book for several days at a time for your entire trip. The road journey between Jammu and Srinagar usually takes 6 hrs and during road repairs or traffic jams it can take 2 – 4 hrs more. You should be prepared for a long travel day and make sure to arrive early to avoid delays. You should keep warm clothes and basic medicines on hand.

      You should book your stay in advance and can include breakfast and dinner in it to save yourself from going out in search of food in the chilly winters. You can also opt for a full day private tour of the city, including a shikara ride on Dal Lake and a visit to two stunning hill stations.

Travelling by Train

     You can also travel by train to reach Srinagar. The trip from Delhi to Srinagar takes about 24 hours in which you can book the train from Delhi to Udhampur and from there take a cab or bus till Banihal Railway station. You have many trains from Banihal to Srinagar throughout the day. It is recommended to book your ticket in advance.
